21st birthday gift ideas

21st birthday gift ideas21st birthday gift ideas do not have to come in the form of an inebriating liquid, as there are plenty of gifts that also address the monumental events that happen during this year.

For example, at age 21 many people, get their first place of their own, buy a car or land their first ‘real’ job.  With this in mind, gifts that demonstrate that a child has finally become an adult are just as appreciated.

For a woman that has just reached this landmark birthday, you should aim to give a feminine and sophisticated gift such as a nice bottle of perfume along with a box of chocolates.  You may even decide to add some strawberries and roses.

For a male that has just reached his 21st birthday, a subscription to a microbrew beer club is not a bad idea and is a gift that will continue to live on for quite some time.  You may even consider also purchasing a monogrammed beer stein which they will probably continue to use for some time as a memento of the event.

Other ideas include personalized gifts such as a journal or an engraved pen so that they can write about this symbolic day.  Engraved jewellery is also a great keepsake for the birthday event.

For those that want to get their friend a fun gift, drinking games such as ‘I’ve never’ or a hangover kit also make great tools that can be used both on the 21st birthday and for years afterwards since the fun never stops.

Electronics are also great gifts for the young adult such as iPods, video games, mobile phones, and even a GPS if the person is a frequent traveller.

Selecting a wedding gift

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Selecting a wedding giftSpring has come and wedding invitations are going to start arriving in the post, however while the events may be filled with joy, finding the perfect gift to take with you on a budget is not always quite so joyous.  However, there are a few presents that will still please the bridal couple even if you cannot spring for a set of designer of china.

First of all, the best way to get started is by focusing in on your goal: remember that the gift is supposed to be a celebration of marriage and not a price tag of how much you love them.  Thus, you should comfortably purchase what is within your budget taking special care to keep their tastes in mind.  Also, the rule that the value of a gift must equal how much your meal at the wedding costs is just a myth, and there is no expectation that you need to live up to.

Second, consider using your creative skills to make a present, such as cooking, wood-working, or sewing.  A wedding quilt or something of that nature can become an heirloom to the couple, which makes it a perfect and fitting fit for the wedding.

If creativity is not your thing, than simply start thinking creatively about the couple and consider a personal gift such as a charity donation in the couple’s name, a personalized item, or even simply a year membership to a museum that the couple shares a common interest in.
