Spring has come and wedding invitations are going to start arriving in the post, however while the events may be filled with joy, finding the perfect gift to take with you on a budget is not always quite so joyous.  However, there are a few presents that will still please the bridal couple even if you cannot spring for a set of designer of china.

First of all, the best way to get started is by focusing in on your goal: remember that the gift is supposed to be a celebration of marriage and not a price tag of how much you love them.  Thus, you should comfortably purchase what is within your budget taking special care to keep their tastes in mind.  Also, the rule that the value of a gift must equal how much your meal at the wedding costs is just a myth, and there is no expectation that you need to live up to.

Second, consider using your creative skills to make a present, such as cooking, wood-working, or sewing.  A wedding quilt or something of that nature can become an heirloom to the couple, which makes it a perfect and fitting fit for the wedding.

If creativity is not your thing, than simply start thinking creatively about the couple and consider a personal gift such as a charity donation in the couple’s name, a personalized item, or even simply a year membership to a museum that the couple shares a common interest in.
